Technological Support

We believe that the technological framework that supports our activities is probably one of the most sophisticated in Canada. We invest a significant amount of time and money in tools that allow us to improve and more effectively provide the services that we offer.

This technological support is of two types: advanced computer or office automation hardware and various powerful application software. In addition to the basic hardware provided by Desjardins Securities, all the members of our team are connected through a second computer network that supports a host of proprietary applications. This includes an Internet line, dedicated printers, scanners, an independent server, etc.

Besides facilitating communications amongst team members, the hardware is used to execute a vast range of software, which covers every aspect of our practice. These applications can be classified into four categories:

1. Client Communications

We have developed a sophisticated indirect communications system, which allows us to reach our clients effectively by fax or email directly from our workstations. Communications software and databases are combined to ensure a highly automated, but personalized process.

2. Client Service

Constant and extensive use of ACT software is the centerpiece of our client service offering.

Moreover, we regularly develop customized software, which can be useful to one or more clients. For example, we have developed software that compares, from a financial point of view, purchasing a property to renting it; another produces all relevant fiscal information for clients whose year-end is not December 31st. These applications aim to simplify the life of our clients and to allow them to make informed decisions.

3. Portfolio Management

The software that we mentioned under Portfolio Management/Personalized and Systematic Management, in conjunction with software from Desjardins Securities, allow us to manage portfolios in a professional, personalized and efficient manner.

4. Retirement Planning

The retirement planning software developed in-house is another tool that uses state-of-the-art advances in technology.
